Valentines.....and leading up to it

Our family has had a very eventful week. Joel's car AND his truck stopped working last week. The fuel pump needed replaced in the Cavalier and the truck is something electrical. This just meant that we had one car to accomodate everyone's work, school and extra curricular activities. It was CRAZY! Joel would get up shortly after me, drive me to work, go home and sleep for a few more minutes, get the kids up and ready for school, drive them to school, go to work, leave work to get JJ, come get me from work, drop us off at home, (depending on the day one or both of us would have class and we'd have to adjust for that) then he'd return to work, leave work to get Ana and hopefully be home for the night. Poor Guy!  It was absolute MADNESS, although we both enjoyed the 0600 chat's on the way to drive me to work. Luckily, he was able to fix his car yesterday. Hopefully, we won't have this problem again!!. So, today both kids had Valentines parties at school, Joel worked, I had rehearsal (I"m playing the piano for Dracula, the Musical?! for the local High School)  then we all came home for a nice dinner. The kids rode their bikes around with the puppy chasing them around. (thanks to the wonderful weather, a whole 56 degrees! yeah : D ) and then my mom (a.k.a. Grandma Mav) brought over some valentines treats! The kids got pez dispensers, grow your own washcloths in warm water (they loved it!), and some coloring books. It was a great day overall!

Ana said, "Look!! I'm a scarecrow!" She CRACKS me UP!!

Suprise Wedding

So, we just up and did it. On a nice, sunny, Sunday afternoon at the inlaws house.....after a mission farewell and a huge family dinner, Joel popped in after spending the whole day at Drill and announced it. Within 30 minutes it was over (lucky the Bishop lives across the street!). The kiddos did great keeping it a secret ALL DAY! I loved seeing the look of surprise on everyone's faces! It was awesome! Thanks to Katie for the photos : ) Here's your play by play....
So Peter...how would you like to be an official witness at my wedding...in like 15 minutes?

Me getting a hug from my mother in law- she was so funny! Grandma gave me a million hugs too. I loved it!!

New Years 2011

So, we had a very fun New Years this year. We went to visit the Higbee's for an afternoon of sledding, chili and fun but we were too late for the sledding (no worries, we've got plenty of time!) Nana Bevan came to visit and join the party. Sam and Saundra (and their family) as well as Uncle Bryn were there too! We had a fun night of the kids singing and playing piano in a talent show and lots of fun conversations. When we got home, we had fun watching the New Years Ball drop and taking pictures in the kitchen. The kids favorite part was drinking sparkling apple cider! Everyone was up WAY past their bed time but we had an awesome night!
